On June 25, 2019, Oregon Governor Kate Brown signed HB 3309, a bill repealing the 25-year-old ban on new construction of public buildings, e.g. schools, hospitals, and fire and police stations, in the coastal areas subject to flooding by tsunamis. The repeal was fast-tracked through the legislature with the support of the legislators in the Oregon Coastal Caucus. To learn more about the repeal, visit the following links.
